We told you all about TuneCore’s inaugural Indie Artist Forum coming up September 19-20 in LA, so if you RSVP’d we’re thrilled to be having you. If you weren’t able to make the forum, good news! We’ll be throwing September’s TuneCore Live at Bardot Saturday night, after the first day of the forum right around the corner from SIR Studios.
Per usual, our friends at Mirrored Media and Swisher Sweets are helping us offer TuneCore Artists the opportunity to share a stage. This month brings Split Screens, Joel Taylor and Desi Valentine to the Bardot, and we couldn’t be more excited. As always, the event is free, 21+ and doors are at 9PM. Desi Valentine
Citing influences like Sam Cooke, Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles, this London-raised/UK-based soul singer has it going on! Desi Valentine’s blend of pop, funk, and soul has caught the attention of industry players and collaborators alike. He’s sung backing vocals for the likes of Sir Elton John, Gloria Estefan and Leona Lewis, and you can hear his collaboration with production team Patchwork Bessie (via TuneCore) below:
Joel Taylor
Born in Australia but currently based in LA, singer/songwriter Joel Taylor had the good fortune of growing up in a very musical household. This inspired his development as a pianist, guitarist, and eventual songwriter. Joel’s soulful arrangements can range from deep emotional ballads to high energy anthems, which has allowed him the privilege of touring the world, as well as appearing on programs such as The X-Factor, the Today Show, and more.
Split Screens
You may remember Split Screens, Jesse Cafiero’s project, when we interviewed him about his experience with TuneCore Music Publishing Administration. After all, his single, “Close Your Eyes” (which you can hear below), was placed in the hit FOX series Bones! The Bay Area composer, who also showcases his talents as a visual artist, creates “sonic landscapes that take in the old and the new, the rough and the smooth.”
