TuneCore Austin Takeover: Indie Artist Forum Day Party 3/17

March 9, 2016

On Thursday, March 17th, we’ll be kicking off the first event of our Austin Takeover with WorldArts at the Vulcan Gas Company! We’re excited as ever to launch what should be an amazing three-day and night stretch of shows.  These events are completely free, no badge or wristband required, and of course, feature an open bar. The show goes from 12pm-6pm.

Our first party is very special, as we’re opening the doors to TuneCore Artists who will be hanging out in Austin this week. We’re encouraging you to come by and mingle with TuneCore’s staff, connect and ask us questions, and of course, hear some great music!

RSVP via Do512 here!

Below, read about and listen to all of the awesome artists who will be helping us set the tone. Hope to see you out there!

Trevor Wesley
trevor wesley

Some artists aim to bring classic crooning soul over a more modern sound, and Trevor Wesley is one who does it with great success. A product of Los Angeles who was raised by a top Hollywood camera operator, Wesley traded in his dreams of being an actor and went on to write and produce with artists such as Ne-Yo, Wale, Dionne Warwick, 98 Degrees, and even perform backing vocals for Stevie Wonder. Check out his latest, “Chivalry Is Dead” below:

Grayshot

Grayshot is an alternative pop three-piece consisting of brothers Aaron and Christian Ankrum and drummer Reese Kling. Traveling down to Austin from Minneapolis, the band will be showcasing cuts from their forthcoming follow up full length, Borders (April 1st). They’ve supported touring acts like The Boxer Rebellion, Switchfoot, and Empires, on top of  landing sync placements in Brooklyn Nine Nine, CBS College Football, and many more.

Towkio
towkio

A member of Chicago’s indie hip hop ‘Savemoney Crew’ alongside Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa, Towkio is an exciting young MC whose single “Heaven Only Knows” helped make him a familiar face last April. Towkio combines his influences in hip hop with soul/R&B and jazz to make music that is at times undeniably bouncy and fun, and at other times deep and introspective. Hear the aforementioned single from his 2015 mixtape .Wav Theory below.

Brooklyn trio Lazyeyes formed in 2012, and began putting in their dues quickly, playing venues all around the borough and beyond. Their shoegaze/dream pop/garage rock tunes garnered attention from Stereogum, NME, Noisey and other hot press outlets, and they even turned heads at Burger Records, who reissued their sophomore EP from 2015. Lazyeyes is embarking on a tour to SXSW 2016 and back with fellow Brooklyn buzz rockers Beverly.

Baby E’s written and produced for artists such as Miley Cyrus, Juicy J, Pitbull and more, and he’s currently readying his debut release.

Lena Fayre
lenafayre

With two EPs, a full length album and a follow-up on the way in 2016, Lena’s racked up Spotify streams and YouTube views in the millions, and has had her music licensed on hit CW show The Vampire Diaries. She’ll be making her second trip down to Austin to showcase her exciting new music and we’re psyched to have her joining our party!

“Blondfire is Erica Driscoll. Her ethereal, confident vocals and ineffable style  brought the band great acclaim and a worldwide fan base that has garnered   more than 7 million combined plays on Spotify and Youtube, with the 2014   breakout album “Young Heart” (featuring the alternative hit “Where the Kids Are”).”

Flight of Ryan
Flight of Ryan

“Flight of Ryan is a four-piece electro-pop rock outfit that draws musical inspiration from an array of artists, ranging from modern pop acts (Jimmy Eat World, Passion Pit, Death Cab for Cutie), to 60’s psychedelic rock (The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin).
